Welcome to C2 Canada!
Welcome to Catalyst Cybersecurity Canada, a small-time educational project to
teach myself about hosting, security, and the basic ins and outs of running a
website and infrastructure.
This website serves as an ongoing project which I use for my own study in
hosting and systems administration and in general anything I need a small
webserver for. Since Catalyst-Cybersecure-Canada is a bit of a mouthful, I
sometimes refer to this site as C2CA or C2 Canada.
This website is mostly for my own study and my own use as I experiment with
and teach myself about security, hosting, and more. I expected it to go down
after a couple months or be offline for a majority of the time. Surprisingly,
it's stayed online almost constantly since I started it around mid 2021,
although I don't publish new content often.

Planned Projects at C2.CA
I'm planning out a roadmap for this website, with some of the following items on
my wishlist for what I'd like to do, as my free time permits.
-
Weblog for recording my thoughts and musings and document
some of my learning process.
-
Chat using either Mattermost or Rocket.Chat, once I have
some time to experiment with hosting either one. Any chat hosted here will
likely be private and not open to the general public.
-
Gitea for hosting my notes and projects.
-
Mail with my own domain. This is something for the far
future, since I've found mail a tricky business in the past. Setting it up
and installing it is easy. Doing it in a safe, sane, secure way and staying
off and dealing with spam blacklists is another! Mail will be for my own use
and possibly a few people I trust.
-
Games! Who says that cybersecurity should be all work and
no play? Cybersecurity should be seen as the enabler of the
wonderful things that computers can do and what allows us to have
confidence in them, not as the downer or as an obstacle to having fun or
enjoying what computers have to offer. What better way to show that than
with some great computer games? In the far future I may host a
dedicated server for games.
Looking for a cookie opt-out banner/pop-up? You won't find one here. This
site has been specifically written from the ground up in only static HTML
and CSS in order to not require cookies, and does not use any third
party analytics. There are no advertisements or invasive tracking on this
site. Since this site doesn't collect any information about its visitors or
serve any ads, a banner that serves no purpose but to annoy visitors and
present them with the illusion of choice is unnecessary.
